Clara’s pulse quickened as the innkeeper revealed the painting, long hidden in the attic of a countryside inn. The dusty canvas seemed ordinary at first. As she brushed away the grime, the unmistakable swirls of Van Gogh’s brushwork emerged. It was breathtaking.
